The London Photo Festival returns in October (16th - 18th), Borough/London Bridge - the theme being 'Landscape' photography. I am a big fan of urban landscape and so I am participating two of my New York City urban shots at the exhibition, well just because I love NYC and these photos bring back great memories of my trip. I must return there soon!
If you are a member of my Meetup page WE SHOOT PEOPLE then I shall be organising a group social meeting event around this exhibition. Date to be confirmed closer to the time.
In the meantime, check out the London Photo Festival website for further details.

Hammersmith London / The Royal Opera House Live
15th July 2014
15th July 2014
Hammersmith London hosted a free live big screening of La Boheme from The Royal Opera House into Lyric Square. I was hired as photographer for this event. The brief from Hammersmith London was to capture the essence of the event, the social atmosphere and elements of the amazing crowd that turned up to watch it on a great summers evening. The Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham and special guests were also in attendance as special guests.

Hammersmith London / Light The Fuse Theatre

I did some events photography for Hammersmith London at Theatre In The Square (Lyric Square). Light The Fuse, a new theatre production company put on a great outdoor performance called FULL STOP, that all takes place by a bus stop! I was asked to get some photos of the performance but also capture the life around Hammersmith's infamous Lyric Square. Great fun taking photos for this outdoor event.

I am a featured photographer on the Rinse IO website : Stories behind photography series. My short story called Londonium about street photography and London. Check it out!

"If you wish to have a just notion of the magnitude of this city, you must not be satisfied with seeing its great streets and squares, but must survey the innumerable little lanes and courts. It is not in the showy evolutions of buildings, but in the multiplicity of human habitations which are crowded together, that the wonderful immensity of London consists."

Check out a little interview I did with the Street Photography London blog this week...

Can you identify for us the main reason you shoot street work?
As mentioned, I have a interest in people, but I am also quite an empathetic person and can read others pretty quickly. I started in the portraiture style of street, but soon progressed into being more creative with multiple elements such as with light play, geometry, POVs, urban scenes, etc into my photos.....

We Shoot People Group at the London Photo Festival
In collaboration with the London Photo Festival, I hosted a We Shoot People - Street Photography Group walk in and around London Bridge / Borough Market. Followed by a social networking night at the Click N' Clique evening at LPF later that evening. We extended the evening for more socialising at the Blue Eyed Maid pub in London Bridge. Thanks to the landlord for his hospitality!
All in all, a very successful and busy night for both new and regular members of the group to interact, discuss and exchange ideas on all things street photography.
